Horizons: Welcome Students of 2020-21

We welcome students, families, teachers, and staff returning to the new school year.

With the cooperation of all us involved in making our school year safe and productive, we will need to implement a few procedures designed with safety and efficiency in mind and in accordance with the school district's reopening plan.

We appreciate everyone's earnest efforts to adhere to these procedures as we are steadfast with meeting the challenges ahead.

  • We plan to post relevant general and specific information on our website promptly. This is to ensure we reach as wide an audience as possible.
  • We encourage students and families to subscribe to Remind for important text messages.
    • Signup codes and subscribe/unsubscribe instructions are posted on Staff Directory.
  • Please notify office staff for any changes to contact information (student, parent, relatives, emergency contacts).
    • Please be sure we have correct phone numbers, email addresses, and residence/mailing addresses (for the mailing of report cards and other letters).

  • We welcome phone calls and email inquiries to our school office and will respond promptly.
  • It is important to note that we will be following ALL county health guidelines. Social distancing and maintaining at least 6 ft apart will be required. Everyone entering campus will be required to wear a mask.
  • Visitors will be limited on campus and anyone who is permitted will follow the same safety protocol as staff. Visitors may need to sign-in at front desk.

  • We recognize the challenges of staying safe and healthy during this time.
  • All teachers and staff will follow MDUSD guidelines pertaining to workplace safety, including but limited to performing daily passive health screenings, social distancing, hand hygiene procedures, etc.
  • We ask that if any student is not feeling well, families should contact us as soon as possible.
  • In addition, we are committed to offering social emotional supports and outreach to any student in need of assistance.

  • Families and students can view student schedules, attendance, and grades on HomeLink.
  • Codes for online/virtual individual teacher resources and classes (e.g. Zoom, Google Classroom, etc...) will be posted on our school website.
  • Students should contact their teacher with questions about attendance, class assignments, request to change classes, class grades.
